You’ve heard us talking about the amazingness of frosted window film before. We love the stuff. It’s inexpensive, easy to apply, and will give windows privacy without losing light!

With Thomas Hicks Window Film, you can even get creative and cut out patterns before you apply it to the windows (in fact, we made a video about that!).

3 Great DIY Projects with Frosted Window Film

We wanted to test the crafty potential of this amazing stuff, so we sent rolls of frosted window film to our craftiest blogger friends, and let them have their way with it. Here are 3 great projects that they came up with!

Move Your Windows in The Right Direction

Kim of Design Thoughts Interiors is an interior designer, and her blog is our go-to for DIY decor projects (check out her lesson in styling nightstands!)

In true crafty fashion, Kim turned her window film into something fabulous.

Light the Way with Frosted Candle Holders

Sara of Sensibly Sara came up with a super easy way to use frosted window film. She cut pieces to fit glass candle holders and gave them a softer glow.

Try a variation on this project with tall pillar candle holders.

Glass etching creams permanently frost glass, but we love this method because you can go back to clear by just peeling off the film!

Be a Deer Window Silhouette

Bobbie writes at the Clumsy Crafter, but don’t let the name fool you, she is the queen of all things creative. With her window film, Bobbie cut out an adorable stag silhouette that she applied to an old glass cabinet door.

This would be beautiful hung over a painted wall in a large window, although we can’t get enough of the rustic wood background in Bobbie’s photo below. The texture really makes the design stand out.

Around the Blinds.com office, this project has surprisingly been just as popular with guys as ladies. With a dark stained frame, this would be perfect in an office or man cave.
